Be-Bodied Scarecrow - BW

Two Nomes selected tools from the hooks near the furnace. When they approached the Tin Woodman, he swatted their tools aside with hard blows from his free arm. But when Ruggedo took the hot coal out of his pocket and placed it before the Scarecrow's head, close enough to tint the cloth orange with its glow, the Woodman stopped resisting. One guard inserted a chisel at the edge of the plate on the Woodman's chest. The other struck it with a sharp blow of a heavy hammer, jarring the Tin Woodman hard and popping several rivets. Another blow drove the chisel in and allowed the Nome to push it down like a crowbar, bending the tin plate outward to reveal the space behind it.

I've nearly finished editing "A Refugee in Oz" (nee "The Benevolent Dictatorship of Oz") and have decided to get off my lazy duff, pick up my brush pens, and at least try to do some illustrations for it. They are done with B&W printing in mind, but I colored it in Photoshop for funsies.

Drawn on paper with pencil, inked with sakura brush pens, post-production tweaks to correct for my ham-handedness in Photoshop.
