Janken won't take this sitting down! by Negaduck9 Janken won't take this sitting down! by Negaduck9
Janken Fraggle now has his jacket, so he isn't wandering around all naked and nude with no clothes on. He's proud of his new decency.

He's wearing a toddler's denim jacket from Old Navy. It's made for a 1-year-old baby, but it fits a Fraggle nicely. Plus, it camouflages the, um, place where the puppeteer is.

Thanks. I lucked out with the jacket; I guesstimated that he was about the size of a 1-year-old baby, and looks like I was right!

And now with his signature 'outer space' jacket, HE IS COMPLETED!!!!

Heh, not quite. I've sewed him a second right arm, rodless, for when I just want to operate one hand. I can swap arms. However, I'm not happy with the connection, so I'ma redo that. There are some other little tweaks I'm going to make. But as he is I could take him out for a spin. :)

Very cool!

I'd be tempted to give him a pair of shades though he's lookin' so cool. :squee:

How would the shades stay on? He has no ears!

Hmmmm.....an eye glass band? My kid used to have to use them when he first started wearing glasses because he kept knocking them off. Just a thought.....lol.

Can you imagine what the band would do to his hair? He's not going to mess up his lush mop with a strap!

There are a few Fraggles with glasses. Morris and The World's Oldest Fraggle seem to have 'em sewn to their faces, and The Storyteller's has earpieces that somehow vanish into her hair. Hmm...

Yea, I was trying to think of an easy option that wouldn't involve having to sew them down and create unnecessary holes in the fabric if you wanted to take them off.

Oh, no need to worry about that when you're working with fleece. Needle holes disappear completely.

This is excellently done! Is he hand stitched or did you machine him? Either way his little parts must have been a bear!

He is 100% hand-stitched, and all the "skin" was sewn using the henson stitch, which is quite slow and finicky. As for little parts being difficult, let's just say that if there is an afterlife of eternal torment and suffering for puppet makers, it involves sewing hands.

"His little parts must have been a bear"... I thought the fur hid those. ;)

He's really, really well done!

HAHAHA! Wow, I would not have ever envisioned that little ditty! I see some hillbily fraggle with a 12 gauge in a rocking chair outside of a trailer!

I just snorted my gelato. TWISTED.

And for the ladies: Fraggle jam out with your clam out. It only scans with the first, of course.

Jam in the clam? Ick! I'd see a doctor for that. Or, if I were a Fraggle, a veterinarian.

No, I don't plan to. Funny thing, but he's my favorite Fraggle Rock OC, but I can't do his voice. When I hear his voice in my head, it's Brian Henson's Jack Pumpkinhead. So I just tweak my voice a little ala Frank Oz, which gives him a strange voice, but one that at least doesn't sound female.

Thank you! Heh, he'll be able to wear it a while. Unlike the 6-12 month toddler it was made for, he won't grow out of it.
