My Little Fraggle: Derpy Toes by Negaduck9 My Little Fraggle: Derpy Toes by Negaduck9
A random little character who popped up in a recent doodle session: a Fraggle version of Derpy Hooves from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Caveat: I'm not a MLP fan. I've seen a few eps because a friend called my bluff and sent me a DVD, and I'll admit that it's a pretty good show, but it doesn't grab me by the throat the way Muppets, Fraggles, and Darkwing Duck do. But on DA the little hoofers are inescapable, and Derpy is cute in a "dare to be stupid" kinda way.

I think it involves muffin mix and a turnip.. After that, well, use your imagination. Whatever you make, A Fraggle will probably eat it.

This is single handedly the most awesome thing I've seen as a brony and as a fan of the work of Jim Henson.

Thank you! I've also drawn the Fraggle Five as ponies.

Somepony else did too. Of course, theirs was probably made with a pony maker. Yours was obviously well drawn.

Thanks! She'd be welcome in Fraggle Rock; Fraggles are nonjudgmental, and she sure wouldn't be the only doofus there. :)

This is an instance where you can imagine two things crossing over without it being a stretch. Like people in the comments said, this could have easily been a character on Fraggle Rock.

Heh, thanks. Maybe she'll make a cameo in one of my fanfics. (And I won't edit her out after a week!)

Derpy would make a great Fraggle - makes me wanna write a crossover fic in which she IS a Fraggle and a character included among the others.

Go for it. If you do, and the Fraggle's named "Derpy Toes" just mention where the idea originated, is all. :)

There are plenty of goofy Fraggles already; just look at Large Marvin, Feenie, and Marlon. Hmm, looks like we need a female goofball to counterbalance all those others.

Don't do it, Kim! Once you start down the pony side, forever will it darken your path! It's too late for me, but you still have a chance! RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

On a side note, yeah, Derpy always seems like she'd fit in on either show, honestly.

Hah! Not likely I'd be a brony. I just draw whatever damnfool idea comes into my head. ;)

There are a number of goofy and/or dumb Fraggles, and nobody passes judgment on them, they seem to simply accept them as they are. Derpy seems like a cheerful doofus, so I think she'd fit in as long as she can sing.

Derpy's VA can sing, I know that because she did some of the most memorable songs in the show.

In that case, she'd fit right in after the species change. Good luck to her figuring out how those wiggly things at the ends of her legs work, though.

Well, there is a background pony the fans decided has delusions of having hands, so I think Derpy's used to this sort of thing.

Just out of curiosity (and if you don't mind my asking)... Why don't you wanna watch it? :O_o:

She just plonked a radish in a muffin pan and poured batter around it. I have no idea how she baked it without wilting the greens.

A better question is, why would I want to watch it? There's nothing about cute little ponies that grabs my interest, is all. For those who like it, good for you, glad you're enjoying it. Me, if anyone really wants me to watch it they can feel free to send me a DVD.

Eh, I guess I see yer point. =/
I spent about a year avoiding it like the plague cuz I hated it when it first came out.
I finally gave it a shot after my friend started watching it and really liked it and wouldn't shut up about it. XP
Aaaaaand now I can't get enough of it. lol XD

Also, youtube's a hell of a lot easier than a dvd, cuz the one dvd they have out only has like a few random episodes in it, and not even all the best ones. :C

I'm on dialup, so Youtube isn't an option for me. A 5-minute video can take more than an hour to load, if it doesn't bomb out in the middle.

They'll probably put it out on DVD eventually. Unless, of course, Disney has anything to do with it, in which case they'll put 2/3 of it on DVD and then forget about it.

Ewww. I getcha. That sucks. :<

I don't really see a box set in the foreseeable future.
The thing is Hasbro isn't marketing to people who'd be interested in having the whole series all at once with the episodes in the right order.
The DVD they just put out is just one they marketed to their REAL target audience, which are little girls.
The thing just a small mix of episodes from seasons 1 and 2 so the little girls have something to watch when the ponies aren't on tv. =/
If they are planning on a box set, they aren't bringing out anytime soon. =/

Meanwhile, the bronies' only option to get the series legitimately is to buy it off of iTunes. And that's only if you're in the U.S.
Bronies outside the U.S. can only get it on YouTube. =/

Yeah, I understand. But I think that after the craze dies down and little girls have found something else to watch on TV and buy the merchandise thereof, they'd put it on DVD to soak up the brony dollar.

Er, I thought "Brony" was a male pony fan. But here people seem to mean all pony fans. Is that right?

Yeah, probably. =/
We do know that Hasbro is VERY well aware of the Brony community, so I wouldn't really be surprised if they did eventually bring out some stuff to soak said brony dollar, including some proper DVDs.
They HAVE to know by now that the bronies WILL spend money on these ponies.

Well, as far as the exact definition of "brony", it depends on who you ask. :P
From what I understand, the term "Brony" came from the fact that the craze started on the B-chan boards.
B for B-chan. B for Brony.
Some people take that to mean it's a combination of "bro" and "pony", meaning a male fan of the series, whereas others just use "brony" to describe ALL fans of the show that are outside the target demographic, which includes adult females.
The ones that see "Brony" as only male have tried to come up with female labels of their own, the most popular of which is... "pegasister"... (I HATE that term. I just don't like the taste of it.)
Personally, I consider myself a brony. If I find myself in a place where I HAVE to be gender-specific, I say "she-brony".

Would those who used to like the show but have since lost interest be called "has-bronies"? (I can't be the first person who's come up with that joke.)

I know that Hasbro knows about the adult fandom. I've heard all about the saga of Ditzy Doo/Derpy Hooves. If they can respond to the fandom (temporarily) then they can certainly make them even happier by exchanging discs for money. After all, Hasbro is a business!

It's a gender-neutral term. Some girls like the term "Pegasis", but it's not as catchy.
