Here's my latest puppet, which I started just after Christmas: Sidebottom! He's Boober Fraggle's fun side, but Boober keeps him on the bottom.

I love this character. He only appeared in three episodes of Fraggle Rock, but memorable ones they were. For those not in the know, Boober Fraggle has a split personality. Sidebottom is his alter ego, and is fun, wacky, spontaneous, impulsive, gregarious, and in short everything that Boober prides himself on not being.

I'm very pleased with how this puppet came out. The whole thing is original, not based on any patterns 'cept those I created myself. I added a new (for me) feature to this guy: removable arm rods. I can operate one arm, or both, or none. I even dyed the fur and fleece. However, I didn't dye the fabric for his pants and hat. Mom gave me that fabric for Christmas. Hi, Mom!

I had a spectacular blonde moment while making his costume I really have to laugh at myself. What kind of dingbat makes puppet pants, put in legs and a tail sleeve, but forgets the arm hole? Eeesh!

I plan to do a little more work on this guy. I'm going to stick some stuff on his hat and pants to further jazz them up, and add buttons and his black-eyed-susan corsage.
