Anyone for an art exchange?

Journal Entry: Fri May 16, 2008, 11:58 AM
I'll make this simple. I like getting art from other people. I like doing art for other people. If you feel the same way, how's about we do an art exchange? One-for-one, anything from sketches to finished pieces, depending on whatever we decide. Reply here if ya wanna.

Got a dum-dum question

Journal Entry: Tue May 13, 2008, 11:01 AM
I like trading art with other artists. Recently I posted an offer for 10 free sketches, but I didn't manage to fill up the list, probably because 1) I'm not one of those top-of-the-line artists, and 2) it requires those who request a piece to make the same offer. That second clause may be a little daunting.

So, I'm thinking maybe art trades are the way to go, as it's just one-to-one, no committing to draw whatever the next 10 random people who wander by ask for. The thing is, I don't know quite how those work, as I have seen a lot of the resultant artworks but none of the offer posts. So, someone clue me in: is there a typical protocol for art trade offers, and can you point me to examples?

I got tagged!

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 1, 2008, 9:06 AM
I got tagged by :iconsuper-munkyboy: and therefore am required by law to participate in this meme.

*****

1. Post these rules
2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves
3. Tags should write a journal/ blog of these facts
4. At the end of the post 8 more persons are tagged and named

My Info:

1. I have anosmia. Anosmia is to the sense of smell what deafness is to hearing. In other words, I have almost no sense of smell. I never did, so I don't miss it.

2. My name is Kim and my initials are KYM. I use KYM as my work E-mail address. This led my boss to correct someone on a CC of a letter sent to the entire office. He told them that I had had my name changed.

3. I have experienced amnesia. I once woke up after a nap not knowing who I was. I had no memories at all. In less than an hour my memory started coming back, but still, it was a frightening experience.

4. I can bend my arms and fingers in ways that few people can. My fingers bend back, My arms twist, I can cross my elbows behind my back, and so on. However, I can't touch my toes to save my life.

5. I've been writing fan fiction as long as I can remember. Literally. I can recall a story I wrote for class when I was in the first grade. I also got an A in an independent study writing class for a He-Man story.

6. I seem to have a thing for weird, masked or faceless characters. Black Mage, Orko, Vivi Orunitia, Hexadecimal, Brak. I have no explanation for this.

7. For two years in middle school I was in both Discovery (class for gifted children) and Special Ed (because one of my teachers hated me and branded me "disturbed") at the same time. I didn't care; Special Ed was a study hall as far as I was concerned.

8. I can speak and read Spanish passably well. It helps me get along every so often.

9. People often ask me where I'm from based on my accent. I always make them guess. People have guessed all over the US, plus Australia and England. The answer? I was born in DeKalb general, a hospital right here in Atlanta. I've picked up speech mannerisms from many sources, resulting in an unplaceable accent.

Since it's April Fool's Day, one of the above "facts" is false. Can you guess which one?

And now, I tag...

1. :icondivineroseboot:
2. :iconpairaka:
3. :iconenzoz2h:
4. :iconlemonwitch:
5. :iconthe-ultimate-evil:

Um, I don't really know more people I want to tag. If you want to do this, consider yourself tagged.

Oh, and while I'm at it, my 10 Free Sketches" meme thing is still open. If you want to claim one, feel free.

I'm thinking of opening up an art exchange thing for those who don't want to commit to doing 10 sketch requests. Any interest?

10 Free Sketches

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 25, 2008, 7:52 AM
Want me to sketch something for you? If you're one of the first 10 to reply to this, sure, I'll do it! There is one catch, though: you have offer 10 sketches in your own journal, and I'll be checking up on ya to make sure ya do before I add you to the list. (If you've already posted it, that counts.)

You get to choose the character. Unless it's a character I know backwards and forwards, please include a link to a reference picture. Of course, I'll more than likely put my own spin on it, mwaahaahaa.

Sketches claimed:

1. :iconsuper-munkyboy: Original MOTU character Kactura Completed!
2. :iconenzoz2h: Something from Fullmetal Alchemist - Completed twice!

Gooble gabble, gooble gabble...

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 28, 2007, 11:22 AM
I've resisted joining DA for a long time because I already have sites for my art and writing, so why do I need this? I still don't have an answer for that, but I'm here anyway.

I have pretty much diddly here at the moment and over a decade worth of art, fiction, and recipes on my site, The Negapage, so feel free to check over there if you wanna see (or read) more.
